Five things to know up front.
Customization is easy to get right when the rules are clear from the start. These are ours.
- It's on the quote. Customization adds a fulfillment charge, itemized next to the books and shipping, so there are no surprises.
- Paperbacks: branded cover stickers from 100 copies. Changes inside the book, such as tipped-in pages, require hardcover editions and publisher approval. We ask the publisher for you.
- A fully custom edition is a print run. We can work with the publisher on format, paper and cover. Custom print runs usually start at about 5,000 copies, sometimes 10,000 depending on the title.
- Extras that travel with the book (bookplates, insert letters, belly bands, stickers, packaging) are available on most orders; confirm in your quote.
- Allow 3–4 weeks. Extras add steps. Tell us when you need the books and we'll confirm the schedule before you order.

Which books can be customized?
Paperbacks can carry a branded cover sticker on orders of 100 or more. Changes inside the book, such as tipped-in pages, require hardcover editions and publisher approval. For a fully custom edition (format, paper or cover), we work with the publisher on a custom print run, which usually starts at about 5,000 copies, sometimes 10,000 depending on the title. Does customization cost extra?
Yes. An additional fulfillment charge applies when you add customization. It's itemized on your quote next to the books and shipping, so you see the full cost before you commit.
Can the author sign the books?
Signed bookplates are possible when the author offers them. We can ask the author's team for you; ask early, because the author's schedule sets the timeline.
Can you put our logo on the books?
Your logo can go on custom packaging, stickers, belly bands and insert cards. Journals can carry a foil or deboss logo imprint on the cover, free on orders of 100 or more journals (a one-time $75 die charge applies under 100); Moleskine journals don't include a free imprint. See custom journals.
How long does a customized order take?
Allow 3–4 weeks from payment. Extras add a fulfillment step: the publisher ships the books to our California warehouse (allow 6–10 business days), fulfillment adds another 1–3 business days, and then the order ships. That 3–4 weeks includes mailing to individual recipients. Tell us your date first, and we'll confirm the schedule in your quote.
Can you help with the design, and can customized books be returned?
Send us your logo, wording or artwork and tell us the idea. Design help and the return terms for customized books depend on the item, so we'll confirm both in your quote.
Can each copy be personalized with a name?
Journals can be personalized with each person's name. For books, ask us about a personalized insert card or bookplate.
Can you assemble kits for each recipient?
Yes. We can bundle books with journals, notes or other gifts, pack a kit per person or per site, and ship them to many addresses from one order.
